Banned Books Week Read Out Signup - Wednesday, October 4

Description

CofC students, faculty, and staff are invited to commemorate Banned Books Week with a Read Out! Sign up to read from your favorite banned or challenged book aloud at the Cistern!

  • The event is on Wednesday, October 4, from 9 am - 5 pm. This calendar shows multiple dates, but only October 4 has times available.
  • Each slot is 10 minutes long. You can fill the entire time, but a little shorter is okay, too.
  • Bring the book/passage you plan to read from, or choose a book from the display at the Read Out.
  • A microphone and podium will be provided at the Cistern.
  • A volunteer will be available to provide assistance.
  • Participants will receive a Banned Books Week t-shirt after the event.

To book a slot, use the Next Available button or select October 4 on the calendar. Select your time, and share what you'll be reading from.

Signing up on a mobile device? After selecting Next Available, swipe to the right to see available time slots.

Not sure what to read? Peruse some frequently banned or challenged books and see if you spot a favorite.

Please try to arrive at the Cistern 5 minutes before your appointed time to check in. Come even earlier if you can, to listen to and support your fellow readers!
