Make an Appointment -
Use the location dropdown to specify where the appointment will take place. Selecting a different location will reload the appointment dates and times that are available to be booked.

Make an appointment in 3 steps. Step 1: Select a staff member. Step 2: Select an available date. Step 3: Select an available timeslot.

Effective Monday, May 17, 2021, the contactless pickup program is suspended and campus delivery for faculty will resume. Please contact the Access & Instruction Desk with questions or concerns. 

For those who do not wish to enter the library building, contactless pickup of certain physical resources is available to College of Charleston students, faculty, and staff as well as to Friends of the Library. The following procedures are in place for picking up and returning circulating Addlestone Library physical materials. 

Library Material Pickups

Pickups are only for CofC students, faculty, staff, visiting scholars, and Friends of the Library.

Items available by request:

  • Books and DVDs from the Addlestone Library circulating collection (Catalog Location: Book Stacks or Media Collection). Search the catalog.

  • Books requested through PASCAL Delivers.

  • Books and physical items requested through Interlibrary Loan. Document delivery to faculty offices is not available at this time.

  • Textbooks: These procedures are for physical library materials only. If you need assistance with textbooks, please visit the College Bookstore

  • Electronic articles and book chapters: If you are requesting electronic articles and book chapters which are not available in our online databases, submit your request with Interlibrary Loan.

  • Library laptops: Library laptops are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Addlestone Access & Instruction Desk. Library laptops cannot be reserved using this booking system. For the Spring 2021 semester, library MacBook Airs will be circulated with a one-week checkout period. If you need a library laptop and are unable to enter Addlestone Library due to COVID-19-related concerns, please call the Access & Instruction Desk at 843-805-8000. How to schedule and pick up your items:

  • Appointments are available Monday-Friday between 10 am and 2 pm and must be scheduled at least 6 hours in advance. Schedule an appointment using the calendar below. Appointment slots are individual to maintain recommended social distancing. 

  • Enter your information and relevant information about the item(s) you are requesting on the appointment form. You can request multiple items at once. 

  • You will receive an email confirmation. If the items are unavailable, you will also receive a follow-up from staff. 

  • The appointment will take place in the library parking lot (AD Lot; Pitt Street entrance). Additional instructions are provided in your confirmation email.

Library Material Returns

All library books, including ILL and PASCAL returns, should be left in the book drops located behind the library on Rivers Green and in the library parking lot–no appointment needed. Please return textbook rentals through the College Bookstore.

Technology items may be returned by appointment. Do not put laptops in the book drops or leave unattended near the building.
